Senior Financial and Systems Analyst

Reporting to the Director, Finance, Administration and Reporting the successful candidate for this newly created role will be at the forefront of change, working across all levels of organization to establish FP&A capability and maintain it on going forward basis. The focus of this role is to utilize data to ensure end-to-end processes are flowing efficiently through collaboration with stakeholders and to quantify management insight. The Senior Financial and Systems Analyst will be outcomes oriented and possess a mix of financial and technical skills with the drive to create actionable solutions from data analysis.

Major Accountabilities

Analytics and Systems Integration

  • Leveraging Power BI to create a data pool of financial and non-financial data that can be manipulated to draw insights and inform various projects and initiatives
  • Deep-dive analysis that improves understanding of operating environment and interrelations of various factors
  • Leverage system integrations to automate manual processes
  • Analyze performance of products and service delivery methods

Data Analysis

  • Influence strategic direction of the organization through data driven insight
  • Analyzing and interpreting trends and outcomes with the goal of understanding and communicating impact of the Association on occupational health and safety
  • Market analysis focused on identifying needs in the market and actively taking part in developing business cases for new products

Systems Implementation

  • Support transition to a cloud-based ERP from setup and process perspective
  • Data migration
  • Working with stakeholders across the organization to setup new processes with an emphasis on controls and efficiency
  • Participating in developing processes for data collection and ensuring data integrity going forward

Decision Support

  • Building and maintaining financial models
  • Analyzing past performance, identifying trends and relationships
  • Interpreting data and findings within business context
  • Supporting development of business cases for special projects

Planning and Forecasting

  • Contribute to formulating strategies around collective bargaining and building financial models to support the process
  • Partnering with managers across the organization to quantify management insight
  • Maintaining running forecast to quantify impact of business dynamics on company’s financials and translating that into actionable analysis for management consumptions
  • Adhering to guidance as set out by the Funder


Job Requirements

  • Accounting designation preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or mathematics
  • Five years of business experience with three years in a similar function
  • Power BI experience is required
  • Sage Intacct experience is a strong asset
  • Experience working with large data sets and building financial models
  • Experience establishing and automating processes
  • Experience in working with non-finance leaders across an organization and ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Professional curiosity and willingness to get to the root cause of issues
  • Technology focus and personal interest in innovation and technology

Status: Permanent, Full-time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week
