COVID-19 Update

The health and safety of our clients, staff and stakeholders is our top priority. PSHSA is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Ontario and remains in constant consultation with the Province to evaluate potential service delivery implications and ensure we are taking action to safeguard our people, clients & communities.

Based on recommendations from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and guidance from the Government of Canada, all classroom training sessions planned now through April 10, 2020 will be rescheduled. All in-person client meetings and consulting activities will also be rescheduled.

With that said, we understand the importance of our clients’ business continuity and the need to maintain a healthy and safe workplace, especially at a time like this. This is why all non-Certification training sessions scheduled for the period Monday, April 13 to Friday, May 1 will be moving online. Moving your course online means that it will be delivered virtually by the instructor in real-time on the same date and time as originally scheduled. Those impacted by this will be contacted shortly to provide additional information and details for accessing your upcoming online course. Our team will also be able to assist should you prefer to be transferred to a later in-person session.

Further, all scheduled JHSC Certification training programs (Part 1, Part 2 and Refresher) for the period Monday, April 13 to Friday, May 1 will be rescheduled. We are actively working with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development on receiving approval to also deliver these training sessions via distance learning. This option will provide participants with the same critical occupational health and safety content, full formal certification and access to expert guidance as the classroom equivalent, just delivered at a safe distance. Once distance learning delivery for JHSC Certification programs is approved, those impacted by this will be contacted regarding the rescheduled session with details for accessing the online course. Our team will also be able to assist should you prefer to be transferred to a later in-person session.

Note that this may exclude requests for the delivery of Training the Fit Tester for Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing services. Given their critical importance during this time, a service needs and risk review will be conducted to confirm facilitation options and every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of organizations, participants and facilitators.
