The Public Services Health and Safety Association is proud to support North American Occupation Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week. The purpose of NAOSH week is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.


North American Occupational Safety and Health Week – was first launched in June 1997, marked by an agreement between Canada, the United States and Mexico. The Canadian Society of Safety Engineering’s (CSSE) Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Week (COHS) had been observed for ten years previously (1986-1996).


CSSE President Peter Sturm will host the Canadian launch of NAOSH Week 2012 in Toronto, Ontario at Centennial College. Invited guests, dignitaries, business leaders, occupational safety & health professionals will gather on Monday, May 7, 2012 to officially launch NAOSH Week 2012 and participate in a program of presentations and educational seminars.
