3M is upgrading its 9210 and 1870 respirators. Should employers wish to switch to the new model, they will be required to be fit tested and receive appropriate training.

This change may have significant impacts to healthcare providers, as many have stock of the two popular respirators. Before registering and completing any fit testing training with PSHSA, please verify your inventory to determine when or if retesting is required. Our consultants will make sure clients are aware of this change so that we may plan accordingly.

To learn more about this, please see 3M’s transition notification. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact Henri Van hulle at hvanhulle@pshsa.ca.
