Risk assessments
Work with an expert to identify, evaluate, and analyze the impact of potential hazards.
What is an expert risk assessment
A risk assessment is a systematic process used to identify, evaluate, and analyze potential hazards within a workplace and determine appropriate measures to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury or illness. Risk assessments can be focused on a specific risk area or hazard or can be offered as a holistic assessment of an organization’s overall risks.
There are many types of workplace risk assessments, including:
- general safety (all hazards)
- workplace violence
- slips, trips, and falls
- general infectious disease risk
- working at heights
- and more

How we conduct workplace risk assessments
1. Initial call with an expert
We’ll connect you with one of our health and safety consultants, who will provide an overview of the process, discuss your specific health and safety needs, and recommend next steps.
2. Onsite visit
You and your consultant will arrange for an onsite visit, where your consultant will identify hazard-related risks specific to your workplace, review your current risk mitigation strategies, and speak with managers and workers.
3. Risk assessment report
The findings from this assessment are then compiled into a detailed report summarizing the specific hazards and risks in your workplace, and strategies to prevent or manage them.
4. Continued support
At the end of the assessment, you’ll have a strong understanding of your workplace’s hazard(s) and risks. Our health and safety consultants can continue to work with you to make the most of the findings and implement strategies, policies, and procedures or health and safety training to reduce and eliminate identified risks.
Why organizations should complete risk assessments
Risk assessments should be an important part of an organization’s overall health and safety strategy. Through detailed risk assessments, our consultants equip workplaces with the knowledge to:
- Proactively identify and assess hazards—understand what specific risks to your workplace exist and how to control them.
- Reduce potential liability—employers have requirements to manage and communicate safety hazards to employees and not doing so could increase an organization’s liability.
- Help prevent injuries and illnesses—reduce or eliminate opportunities for injuries or illnesses to keep workers healthy and safe.
- Establish health and safety as a priority—regular assessments demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, create opportunities for new initiatives, and send a message to workers that their health, safety, and wellbeing is a priority.
