About This Course
Through a partnership between The Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA) and The Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), Traffic Control in Temporary Work Zones training for supervisors and workers has been reimagined with intu microlearning.
Through intu’s microlearning approach, content is consistently reinforced to solidify and extend knowledge retention over time to improve learning outcomes.
What You’ll Learn
In this course, you will learn:
- Identify traffic and other related hazards in temporary work zones.
- Identify legislation relevant to temporary work zones and list legislated requirements of traffic protection planning.
- Describe the basic steps in planning for temporary work zones.
- List the component areas of a temporary work zone.
- Identify principles and procedures required for the set-up, take-down and maintenance of a temporary work zone.
- Explain the purpose and composition of traffic protection plans and traffic control plans.
- Identify and locate relevant sections of the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7 – Temporary Conditions Office Edition.
- Select and use appropriate layout tables.
- Develop a traffic control plan for a temporary condition work zone.
Who Is This Course For
The course is ideal for supervisors or workers responsible for creating, implementing, and/or overseeing traffic control in temporary work areas to develop an effective traffic control plan.
