This full-day private delivery program covers essential information about how to work at heights safely and offers an opportunity for the practical application of skills. Upon completion, learners will know the hazards of working at heights and be equipped with the knowledge to protect themselves.

Under the Working at Heights training legislation, you are required to complete a refresher course every three years.

  • general hazard recognition for working at heights
  • hierarchy of controls
  • safety procedures for warning methods and physical barriers
  • safety procedures for ladders and similar equipment
  • an introduction to personal fall protection equipment
  • barriers and safety nets
  • personal fall protection equipment
  • anchor points
  • work positioning systems, work access and platforms
  • rescue planning

This training is applicable to all employees at all levels across all sectors who work at heights.

Individuals working at heights are required to undergo training through a Ministry of Labour approved provider.

Description

As of April 1, 2015, if you are working at heights, you are required to have training through a Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Develop approved provider. This full day program includes information about how to work at heights safely, as well as practical application of skills. When you are done you will know the hazards and how to protect yourself. The practical session, delivered by our experts, ensures you know how to properly use, inspect, don and doff your equipment. PSHSA’s approved course meets the requirements of the MLTSD Working at Heights Training Program and covers both the theory and practical requirements outlined in the standard.
