Psychological Health and Safety for Committees Full Day will have two workshops:
Workshop A – Foundational
Introduction to workplace psychological health and safety
In this interactive session, participants will explore key concepts of mental health and psychological safety in the workplace. The session will focus on developing and practicing skills essential for fostering a mentally healthy and supportive work environment. Participants will learn to recognize signs of mental health concerns and lead safe, open conversations to help cultivate a psychologically safe work culture.
During this half-day workshop, participants will:
• Review mental health key concepts
• Define workplace psychological health and safety
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of psychological harm
• Review a shared responsibility for workplace psychological health and safety
• Be able to comfortably engage in mental health discussions within teams and across the workplace
Workshop B – Intermediate
Managing workplace psychosocial factors
In this session, learners will build on foundational concepts to expand their knowledge and delve into leading practices for recognizing, assessing and controlling workplace psychosocial hazards. A shared responsibility for workplace psychological health and safety is reviewed and a practical tool for managing workplace psychosocial hazards is explored.
During this half-day workshop participants will:
• Review the shared responsibility for workplace psychological health and safety
• Explore practical resources to support psychologically safe culture
• Recognize workplace psychosocial hazards
• Review the mental health continuum and job-based psychological harm
• Learn how psychosocial job-factors can impact worker mental health
• Explore a tool to manage risk of psychological harm on the job
