Smaller Businesses have unique challenges, that’s why the Smaller Business Support Initiative has been created. This initiative increases benefits associated with participating in the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program, so businesses with 1-99 full-time employees can earn enhanced rebates while strengthening workplace health and safety until Dec 31, 2024. WSIB created this Smaller Business Support Initiative to allow more businesses to participate in the Health & Safety Excellence Program, help smaller businesses enhance their health and safety planning and boost their bottom line as they continue to recover from the pandemic

Benefits

The Smaller Business Support Initiative provides the same benefits as the standard Health and Safety Excellence program, plus:  

• Double the rebates for action plans provided by December 31, 2024
• $1,000 towards the costs of your 2024 health and safety plan if approved by December 31, 2024
• Retro double rebates for past completed action plans
• An increase to the maximum rebates from 75% to 100% of the total WSIB premiums that a business paid the previous year

• Leadership and Commitment  
• Health and Safety Responsibilities 

• Health and Safety Communication 
• Health and Safety Participation 
• Incident, Injury and Illness Reporting
