We are saddened to hear of the tragic death of York Regional Police Service Const. Garrett Styles north of Toronto this morning. Constable Styles was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while investigating an offense.
Constable Styles, a seven-year veteran of the police force, is survived by his wife, Melissa, and two young children.
“Work-related fatalities are always a terrible tragedy, but are even more horrific when they happen senselessly to those who dedicate their lives to protect others,” said Joe Watkins, Regional Director, Prevention Services, Provincial Programs & North of Public Services Health and Safety Association. “Our thoughts are with Garrett’s family friends and co-workers at this difficult time.”
